My battery in every aspect is at about 10% today. I think I’m having some kind of hormonal crash where my mood and physical energy are so low that it’s effecting my work ethic. So I am, for all intents and purposes, just winging it for now.
I don’t have everything I need to feel 100% but I’m doing my best today. I really wanted to write, so for this newsletter here’s a list of things to do when you feel lost and don’t know what to do:
Take a nap. It’s not lazy. It can be as long or as short as you need. You’d be surprised how much of a reset this can be
Go for a walk
Talk to someone who’s a good listener
Cry
Scream
Make a list of what you can do right now
Make a list of you can’t do right now
Ask for a help! It’s okay to delegate
Research what other people have done in the position
Play! Draw, sing, move your body, find some play dough etc
Speak to your therapist (if you have one)
Drink some water and have a snack
Take some time off. Maybe your mind and body need rest before the next thing
Write an action plan. Start with micro goals that make up a bigger goal
Journal
De-clutter a small space in your house
Meditate
Know that everything will be okay because that’s how it usually works out
I hope that helps whoever needs it. It’s okay if you don’t know what you’re doing because neither do I! But I always find the answer. A great friend recently said this to me:
And I’ve held onto those words tight for the last few days. It really meant a lot and gave me the courage to trust myself a little more.
I’ll be back soon with something of more substance. In the meantime, I wish you all the best week! Speak soon ❤️
It's a very dreary, rainy day in New York and really needed this list today!
I’m reading this with a phone that says it’s on 10 per cent battery life, and going to get the charger feels like I need to go into battle rather than go upstairs and get the thing. So I feel, hear, and see you.
Thanks for sharing. ✍️💚
