Today I’m steering away from my usual format and I'm sharing a list 20 things I've been procrastinating on crying about. From the mundane to the profound, these are the things that have been weighing on me that I’ll let myself feel when I have the luxury of taking time to have a good cry.
1. The cartoon I spent hours on and accidentally deleted.
2. Seeing how different my mum looked in photos ten years ago.
3. My mum as a child.
4. Having to say goodbye to all my plants when I move out.
5. My strained relationship with the other parent.
6. My current hyper-fixation (unrequited) love interest.
7. The new haircut I thought I’d love.
8. Being almost 30.
9. I have no husband and kids (potential for tears of joy here).
10. I overanalysed my naked body this morning.
11. WORK.
12. I’m starved of meaningful physical touch.
The UberEats driver left my PMS meal at my front door knowing they’d spilt the drink (I did not procrastinate on these tears).
14. The elderly man I saw eating a sandwich by himself.
15. I forgot to take the frozen meat out of the freezer.
16. I missed the return deadline for an expensive item I don’t want.
The cost of salmon.
18. A baby waved at me by opening and closing their little hand and it was precious.
19. I’m a tiny speck in the universe and only about 0.000000125% of people think I matter.
20. I’m a tiny speck and 0.000000125% of people are my own universe (happy tears).
Your Substack is amazing and #13 made me laugh out loud.
